What fan badges are
Fan badges are metal badges featuring characters, logos or artwork from anime, games, comics and original creators. They are sold as merchandise, given away at events, or collected in series. Unlike a sports medal, the artwork is the product, so colour accuracy and fine detail matter most.
Colour methods
- Printing reproduces gradients, shading and photo-like artwork. A clear epoxy dome protects the print and gives a glossy finish.
- Soft enamel fills colour between raised metal lines, giving a textured, classic pin look.
- Hard enamel is polished level with the metal for a smooth, premium surface on bold, flat colour areas.
- Die casting in zinc alloy adds cut-outs and sculpted 3D detail, useful for character figures and logo shapes.
Send the artwork and tell us how the badge will be sold; we will suggest the method that keeps detail and cost in balance. The customization guide shows every option.
Metal and attachments
Iron keeps cost down on flat printed badges in larger runs. Zinc alloy suits shaped and 3D designs, and brass gives a heavier feel for limited editions. Backs can be butterfly clutches, rubber or locking backs, safety pins or magnets. For bag charms and key rings, see keychains; for lapel-style collections, see enamel pins.
Retail packaging
We supply backing cards printed with your artwork, OPP bags with header cards and barcode labels. Each badge can be packed individually and cartons labelled for your warehouse or distributor.
Licensing
We only make badges from artwork the buyer owns, has licensed, or has created as original work. For licensed characters we ask for the licence or rights-holder authorisation before sampling. This protects you, your licensor and us, and it avoids goods being held at customs.
Ordering notes
The minimum order is 100 pieces per design. Samples take about 7 days and finished goods about 14 days in total, both counted from the day after your deposit. For a convention or product launch, send the whole series early so all designs sample together. See how it works for the approval steps, then request a quote.
