What a custom keychain is
A custom metal keychain is a small badge, cut to your design, attached to a key ring. It goes into a pocket every day, so it keeps your logo or event in front of people long after the occasion. Keychains are often ordered alongside medals, pins or coins using the same artwork.
Metal choices
- Zinc alloy is die-cast in any shape, with cut-outs and 3D relief. It is the usual choice for shaped and sculpted designs.
- Iron is stamped and keeps cost down on flat designs in large runs.
- Brass is die-struck for crisp lines and a heavier, premium feel.
- Stainless steel resists corrosion and suits plain, engraved-look or printed designs.
- Aluminium is light and suits printed colour.
Colour and finish
Soft enamel gives bright colour with a textured feel and is the most common choice. Hard enamel is polished smooth for a premium look. Printing handles gradients and photos, usually under a clear epoxy dome. Plating options include shiny gold, silver and copper, antique finishes and black nickel. Antique finishes suit 3D designs because they bring out the relief.
Rings and fittings
The keychain is supplied with a key ring attached. Tell us if you need a different fitting, for example a bag clip or a phone strap, and we will confirm what can be supplied with your design.
Typical uses
Event organisers order keychains as finisher gifts or merchandise to match a medal. Companies use them as gifts and giveaways. Tourist attractions and shops order them as souvenirs. Fan merchandise follows the same licensing rules as anime and fan badges: the buyer must own or license the artwork, or use original designs.
Ordering notes
The minimum order is 100 pieces per design. Samples take about 7 days and finished goods about 14 days in total, both counted from the day after your deposit. If the keychain shares artwork with a custom medal or enamel pin, mention it so we can quote the items together. The customization guide covers every option; request a quote when ready.
